Why Choose Hybrid Coverage
It used to be that photography coverage was a necessity at weddings, but video coverage was optional. Nowadays, many couples are choosing to include video coverage, whether that’s a highlight film, a same day edit, or a full feature documentary! However, many photographers now are also offering hybrid packages. Read more about why a hybrid package may be a perfect choice for your wedding!
What Is Hybrid Coverage?
The traditional way of getting both photo and video coverage would be to hire two different teams. However, this can be extremely expensive, and you may be limited to choices that don’t fit exactly what you want. Hybrid coverage is our premium package focused on photography and videography, all done by our team (2 people). This means that we switch back and forth between photo and video to create a highlight film alongside our full photo gallery. The core focus is still photography, but now you get the added benefit of a highlight film.
Why Choose Hybrid Coverage?
Your Story
The main reason why you should choose hybrid coverage: to tell your story! With a single package that includes both photo and video, this allows us to tell your story in a way that a solo photography or videography package could never do in the past. We believe that photos can only capture 70% of emotions throughout the day. A highlight film offers a special way to showcase emotions that cannot be put into still images.
The Team
A hybrid package means that all members present are a part of my team. This allows us to communicate easily and work together without getting in each other’s way, and you won’t have to worry about two different teams trying to work together for the very first time. Because everything is done within my team, you’ll receive both photos and videos in the same editing style. Furthermore, hiring two separate teams will start to bring up the costs, while a hybrid package covers both the photo and video end at a discounted price.
Deliverables
There are so many different video packages out there: same day edits (for a premium price), full length documentaries (30-60 min), or even extended highlight films (10+ minutes). For many couples, they simply don’t care about rewatching their whole ceremony. For some, even a 10 min highlight film is too long, much less a 60 min documentary. Hybrid coverage provides a full day squeezed into a short 3-5 min highlight film, instead of a long film that they might never end up watching. This gives couples a little addition to the full photo gallery they would receive, all at a discounted price! This let’s you save on your budget without sacrificing quality, and gives you some extra money to spend on your wedding (or your honeymoon)! However, there are also many couples out there that DO want that full documentary coverage. If that is the case, then we definitely recommend one of our videography partners that we frequently work with and trust!
How Do I Know If A Hybrid Package Is Right For Me?
If the following criteria fits you:
- Are on the fence about video coverage, but feel you may regret not having a highlight film later on
- Don’t care about rewatching the whole ceremony or speeches
- Feel like you’ll never rewatch a 10+ min highlight film
- On a budget, but still want photo + video coverage without sacrificing quality
- Want to trust a single team that is coordinated to work well together and capture your wedding day
Then a hybrid package is perfect for you!
